Approach
A waterfront that works when the water rises.
The design treats flood mitigation and public amenity as the same problem. Terraced edges, blue-green infrastructure and re-established habitat let the river flood safely while giving the community a riverfront to use every other day of the year.

Flood mitigation as landscape.
Rather than hiding infrastructure behind concrete, the water systems are expressed in the landscape: swales, wetlands and level changes that read as parkland and perform as engineering.
Approached as a combination of flood mitigation, blue-green infrastructure, habitat, movement networks and open space, not simply making a nice promenade.Sample project narrative
